This procedure was done by manually taking data and information from every necessary fields found my LJ account's .XML export and .CSV (as .txt) export into Semagic LJ Client, then saving each entry individually as .SLJ files. This might as well be the dirtiest, most painstaking and emotionally disturbing procedure a human can ever delve into in the whole history of blogging.

The first attempt to restore my whole journal started on November 17, 2003 and at that time, due to the emotional trauma I went through, it was seemingly impossible to recover at least 750 journal entries that I just gave up before 2004. By then, I figured that it was better off that I left the blogging world all together.

Every once in a while, I continued dissecting information manually from the .CSV (as TXT) and .XML exports into Semagic until the first ever hard drive failure occured on October 5, 2004. All the work in progress was wiped out from the face of the earth, never to be seen again.

On February 26, 2005, I gave the Journal Recovery Project another shot. Only this time, nothing in the world was going to stop me, except for food, sleep and Xenogears. This project went on, everyday, almost non-stop, until March 21, 2005. Since Deadjournal.com claims to be the opposite of Livejournal, and this journal that I am uploading is indeed, DEAD, I picked them to be the first journal hosting service for this project (future launches will take place at Greatestjournal on 2006). The format of the entries are preserved to the best of how they were originally posted. Editing an entry for their errors, security level, and date/time were done on rare and announced occasions. Spelling is kept as they were spelled or misspelled the way they were originally posted.

The comment feature was disabled.

Most entries are backdated (if that even matters).

All links pointing to another entry, or another user's entry, will not work. They will not be edited or fixed.

All LJ-user tags will not work, they don't exist here in Deadjournal (I hope). They will not be edited either.

All LJ-comm tags will not work, even if they existed here in Deadjournal, the entry doesn't. They will not be edited either.

Some of the images might not work. The day I cancel my hosting plan, shall be the day those images become empy spaces.

A few entries' security level were edited. Some entries will never be seen again, and some will be new to the public.

Since the first attempt to restore and relaunch my Livejournal account failed, and the second time around went all the way through according as planned, it earned the name "The Journal Recovery Project of 2005", and will be typed in RED most of the time.

The title "Whatever Once Was" was taken from a poem I wrote back in 2004. It became the title of this journal account because the poem was written about losing my Livejournal.

"Whatever Once Was", as it stands today, is a backwards journal. It includes journal entries dating from September 8, 2005 to November 7, 2005. It is meant to archive journal entries from the past, including my handwritten journals, and posted as backdated entries using none other than the Semagic Livejournal Client. All entries that seems to have been dated fairly recent are update entries and linking entries that leads to the actual entry archived by this journal account.

:: Click here to visit "Whatever Once Was"

Call me Roger @ Mindsay

Also Known As: MISC:DATA Repository - Mindsay sector, The Spicy Pork Chronicles
Category: Personal blog (partly network-exclusive or friends-only)
Powered by: Mindsay
Site Traffic: High (+100 visits per day, including anonymous visitors)

[ Go to Call me Roger @ Mindsay ]

Call me Roger @ Mindsay, among all my blogs, holds the reputation for being the most updated (considering it is updated DAILY) and the most popular blog in the Call me Roger Blog Network. Unlike Episode Unknown, this blog is connected to at least 100 users in the Mindsay blogging community. Some entries are capable of receiving over 100 comments within two to three days, sometimes hours. Needless to say, this account is the most active blog in my entire network and it's also used to communicate with many different people in the Mindsay community.

Updated daily, the Call me Roger @ Mindsay blog includes the following:

Episode Unknown x-posts: Some of the personal entries posted in EP:?? is crossposted to my Mindsay blog if it can possibly be posted before 12:00am of the event's date. Entries from EP:?? is edited to relate more to the Mindsay community.

The 90's Song of the Day: A project that started on August 1st, 2005, this feature brings back lyrics of some of the best songs that came out in the 90's. Unlike the EP:?? x-posts, this project is sponsored by the Between These Lines project.

MISC:DATA Repository: Some of the most useless, yet entertaining information and images I run into from the vast world we call the internet is blogged here randomly. It gives the community some laughs.

If you are not a member of Mindsay.com, there are some entries that you will not be able to see. Call me Roger @ Mindsay is partly Network-Exclusive (or Friends Only), because it contains entries that are so personal, that it can't even be posted in Episode Unknown. This is where I speak my mind without any hesitation and this is where I can guarantee that at least someone will hear me out. But some of the daily contents like the 90's Song of the Day are still made available to the public, including non-Mindsay users.

The Call me Roger @ Mindsay blog depends heavily on the use of the Semagic LJ client's ability to create the proper HTML coding translated from the WYSIWYG editor. It also uses the Semagic LJ client and it's ability to create line-breaks for Mindsay's Blog Update page. However, the Semagic LJ client is not used to post entries directly to this Mindsay blog. This blog is also known to be updated using AIM (AOL Instant Messenger) by sending messages to "Mindsaybot".

:: Click here to visit Call me Roger @ Mindsay

Call me Roger: The Xanga Edition

Also Known As: Call me Roger: The Xanga Edition
Category: Personal blog (Subscriber-Exclusive, experimental)
Powered by: Xanga
Site Traffic: Low (1-5 people per day)

[ Go to Call me Roger: The Xanga Edition ]

"The Xanga of an ordinary guy who may not be so ordinary after all..."

Call me Roger: The Xanga Edition was once known as an anomaly to the many people who knew me in Livejournal. Since 2002, people have invited me to Xanga, but I would never join. Having a Xanga account was the last thing I would ever consider.

During March of 2005, I signed up for a Xanga account for two reasons: to claim the "callmeroger" name and to comment to a few friends' entries. That same night, my phone rang off the hook just to hear the question "Dude, you got a Xanga? OMG!"

Within 5 hours, I created an entry that would promote the actual opening of my Xanga account, thinking that people are making such a big deal out of it. I dated the opening of the Call me Roger: The Xanga edition for July 1st, 2005. As the spring season passed, this Xanga account remained so dormant that it only became one of the forgotten mistakes I ever attempted.

On July 1st, 2005, Call me Roger: The Xanga Edition opened up and received a numerous amount of visitors, only to see if I was going to pull something unexpected. I decided to break many of these people's hearts by being boring instead. Needless to say, unlike my Mindsay account, Call me Roger: The Xanga Edition is probably the least visited blog in all of Xanga.com. It's the part of the Call me Roger Blog Network I'm not too proud of either. :p

This Xanga account is divided by "Acts" per random seasons and life events. It also marks every evolution of this Xanga account's experimental phase. Most of the entries are Protected Entries exclusively posted to be read by; at the most, 10 closest friends and family members. It is also known as my rant blog.

Call me Roger: The Xanga Edition is updated using the same method my Mindsay account is updated; using the Semagic LJ client. That means the Xanga X-Tools will always be used.

Call me Roger's Livejournal

Also Known As: Call me Roger
Category: Personal Journal
Powered by: Livejournal (LJ Source Code)
Site Traffic: Before 11/07/2003 - Medium (+50 site hits) | Today: None (0)

[<strike> Go to Call me Roger's Livejournal </strike>]
(you will be redirected to my Deadjournal account)

Call me Roger's Livejournal (151443)
May 25, 2001 - November 8, 2003

"Updated almost daily comes a story of an ordinary guy living through ordinary obstacles of an ordinary life at the wrong place and time."

Call me Roger's Livejournal was my unforgettable debut in the blogging world. This was my first ever journal to be made available to the public online. Everything was logged here in such detail, many people read it as an epic saga or a book about an ordinary guy living through ordinary obstacles of an ordinary life at the wrong place and the wrong time.

This journal included the part of my life as I entered the realm of Fatherhood. It also included the time when I worked at Circuit City, and SPL. The journal began when I was still living with my parents in Sugarland, TX; through the time when I moved out to return to Houston, TX to live on my own. All the experiences about my life, as I became independent, were posted there. Records of events that lead to my separation with my son's mother, including sweet beginnings and bitter endings with other ex-girlfriends were once posted there.

Due to certain events that crossed my path in Livejournal, including the ignorance of the Livejournal Abuse team, and not to mention my craving desire for revenge against some of the immature people I met there; my Livejournal account was unfairly permanently suspended without any warnings or temporary suspension for negotiations on November 7, 2005. Over the next months that passed after this permanent suspension, attempts to negotiate with the Livejournal Abuse Team only resulted in failure. My Livejournal will never be reinstated for as long as Livejournal.com lives.

With a lifespan of two and a half years, my livejournal account acquired over 750 journal entries, regardless of security level, and not including entries posted in LJ communities. It was networked along with at least 80+ people in my mutual friends list, and it reached out to about 30+ community journals. It had about 1100+ comments posted and 1300+ comments received within it's lifespan.

Though many of the things that were lost are non-recoverable (such as community posts, comments and replies), at least 750 of the journal entries posted in that account have been exported into CSV (as TXT files) and XML exports. All of which were used to recover the ENTIRE journal, each individual entries were transformed into it's own individual Semagic Livejournal files (.slj). All of which was relaunched more than a year later in my Deadjournal.com account.

Various clients were used to update Call me Roger's Livejournal. Clients such as the Web client, Vision LJ client, Semagic LJ client, Lochjournal, tapjam and others were used to update that journal.

:: Click here to see how my Livejournal account looks now...
:: Click here to see where my Livejournal entries reside, resting in peace.

A New Year, A New Frontier...

Let's see...

...I feel a little comfy in here.
